Krewe Babalu, Inc. (hereinafter the "Krewe") is limited to a
maximum of two hundred (200) Members in Good Standing (hereinafter
the "Members") and is managed by a Board of Directors that governs
the affairs and business of the corporation. The Articles of
Incorporation and bylaws of the corporation govern the Board of
Directors, elected each year by Members of the Krewe. The Articles
of Incorporation and bylaws, as adopted by Members of the Krewe, are
available upon request to persons applying for membership, and
provided to all Members of the Krewe.
All persons applying for membership in the Krewe must be
twenty-one (21) years of age or older. Membership dues must be paid
by check to Krewe Babalu, Inc. with this application for membership.
The price of membership is established by the Board of Directors and
is subject to change at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
Any increase in the price of membership will not apply to Members
until the beginning of the next fiscal year. The fiscal year for the
Krewe runs from April 1st through March 31st. All memberships expire
on March 31st of each year.
Each successive year, membership dues are due and payable on
April 1ST and payment is required to renew Member status and
benefits.
Benefits and privileges exclusive to Members of the Krewe
include, but are not limited to, the right to vote on any issue
presented to Members for a vote; the right to purchase and wear
regalia; the right to display or distribute materials exclusive to
Members; the right to earn points and receive the benefits through
the Krewe Point System; and the right to attend all Krewe functions
at the Member price.
Events for the year include Memberships Meetings (usually held on
the first Tuesday of the month); Gulf Coast Greyhound Day at the
Tracks; Annual Rock-N-Bowl; Halloween Party; Christmas Dinner Party;
Epiphany Party; Den Party; Jr. Krewe Party; Float Rides in Mardi
Gras Parades; Fat Tuesday Party and more!!! The Schedule of Events
is available upon request to all persons applying for membership.
Krewe Babalu, Inc., founded in 1995, is a
Texas Non-profit Corporation. The purpose of the organization is to
promote Mardi Gras festivities on Galveston Island and civic and
social activities within the organization and the City of Galveston.
